Prometic has an opening for a Donor Technician (Processor) at its plasma collection center, located in Amherst, NY. Under supervision of the Supervisor, Plasma Center, the Donor Technician (Processor) is primarily responsible for processing and/or product collection, but also donor screening. The mandate of the Donor Technician (Processor) is to: • Product Processing: Perform proper receipt and processing of blood and plasma units. Maintain product and sample inventories in an orderly manner. Complete accurate documentation for all products collected. Prepare, identify and ship individual samples for laboratory and customer testing. Perform sample processing and pooling procedures. Prepare products for shipment and disposition in accordance with applicable regulations and SOPs. Ensure traceability of all samples and units collected, processed and shipped. • Product Collection: Perform the collection of Source Plasma and Whole Blood in accordance with applicable regulations and SOPs. Efficiently monitor donors through the donation process to avoid trauma and adverse events. Perform post- donation donor observation and care. Manage adverse donor reactions and ensure adequate supplies of emergency drugs and equipment are as prescribed by the Center Physician. • Recruit and assess donors for suitability in the various plasma/blood programs.
